Ronald A. Mowrey


Ronald A. Mowrey, managing shareholder, practices extensively in the areas of civil law, commercial law, banking law, creditors rights, bankruptcy, administrative law, and financial related areas of the law. Mr. Mowrey has served as special counsel to the State of Florida, Department of Insurance, Gadsden County and the Florida Association of Counties on various matters. Mr. Mowrey is a former FBI agent, certified legal instructor and has lectured on matters including bankruptcy, debtor and creditor rights, commercial law and criminal law. Mr. Mowrey is the past president of the Northern District of Florida Bankruptcy Bar Association and has served as Trustee and special counsel to Trustees in numerous complex bankruptcy cases. Mr. Mowrey has represented various governmental entities in Bankruptcy Court and in general matters. He handles complex commercial trials and represented Wakulla County for 28 years.

Appointed by the Governor of Florida in 1974 as Public Defender in the Third Judicial Circuit

Served as Bankruptcy Trustee under appointment of United States Federal Court for seventeen years

Represented Florida Sheriffs Insurance Programs as general counsel for 20 years

Served as Special Counsel to Chapter Seven Bankruptcy Trustees in complex recovery cases

Served as Counsel for Unsecured Creditors Committees in large corporate bankruptcy cases:

    Marvin Warner Bankruptcy (eight billion dollar cases) pursued assets in Florida and Ohio (reported on 60 Minutes and U.S. News and World Report)

    University Nursing Care Center, Inc., served as Counsel for Unsecured Creditors Committee marshaling assets for creditors

    Parkview Nursing Home involved extensive fraud litigation as trustee; recovered extensive assets through fraudulent transfer actions filed on behalf of creditors and trustees

    Served as Trustee on special appointment in the Anthony Luzzo bankruptcy case in Florida and New York (reported on 60 Minutes and U.S. News and World Report)

    Previously served as Counsel to Receiver in Liquidations familiar with department procedures and policies

    Recently chosen by his peers as a Legal Elite in the Florida Trend Magazine in 2008
